Fertilize properly
Fertilizing once in the spring and once again in the fall should be enough. Make sure that the fertilizer you’re using contains a large percentage of slow-release nitrogen and micronutrients. It’s better to use too little than too much, because over-fertilizing won’t make your grass grow faster, it can lead to other things including burn.
